I went shopping today and was able to use some coupons toward produce, organic bread, and other things. In another post I will try to share some links to some great natural coupons. I had hoped to show you a picture of my shopping trip, but my sweet husband had everything put away before I had a chance.  I can tell you that I only spent around $41. Coupons can be so helpful. Sometimes it is worth it to buy something that you do not plan to use just to get an overage toward the items you do plan to use. You can always donate the extras.

Since I could not get a picture here is a list of what I got...

3 # organic apple
organic lettuce
2.19 # organic banana
Nature's own organic bread
1 # organic beef
Kroger natural peanut butter
2 jars Classico spaghetti sauce (I liked this brand because it did not have high fructose corn syrup or soybean oil)
1 Large can V8
1 can green beans
1 can peaches
2 cans pears
1 can madarin oranges
Daisy sour cream (This brand is cream only without additives)
apple juice (I prefer not to buy this, but my daughter needs to have as many fluids I we can get down her)
2 packs strawberries
Local whole wheat flour
2 boxes freezer bags
1 bag garbonzo beans
1 bag frozen stir fry veggies
1 bag frozen bell pepper and onions
1 sm container plain yogurt (To make my own yogurt with)
1 cucumber
1 bag Nature's own buns
World Market olive oil (My favorite brand)
1 box Always Infinity (I had a free box coupon, plus $2 came off that was already loaded to my card)

Coupons used...
2 $.75 Nature's own (No longer available)
$1 off V8
1 $.35 off Kroger frozen veggie (mailer)
$2.50 off next order coupon
Free Always Infinity
$10 off next order coupon (This was a Walgreens Register Reward. I read at Common Sense With Money that if you ask your store some will take them as a competitors coupon. I decided to ask the cashier. She just said she would see if it would scan. Guess what it did!)

Total OOP $41.22
Total saved $34.72

I obviously could have saved more if I had gone to Aldi's to get my produce. I decided that I would rather spend a little more for better quality especially since I was planning to use the $10 off catalina.

I went grocery shopping today knowing that I needed to only buy essentials and the things I needed for making laundry soap (I still need washing soda) and decorating for Christmas. I went to Aldi's, Target, and Dillons. I am hoping to do a post on our homemade Christmas decorations soon.

The produce I bought is not organic, but sometimes you just have to take what you can get.

Target has a new set of coupons out this week. You can go to Stretching a Buck to see all the coupon match ups, but I was most interested in the coffee coupon. Target has put out another $1/1 coffee coupon. This time there are no restrictions as to how much you have to buy. Some super targets have small sample bags from about $.99 to $1.07. When I went today to check it out they were cleaned out. So instead I got a very small amount of the bulk coffee and ground it up. I actually liked this better since I got to pick from more flavors. I think I ended up paying less then $.30 after my coupon. Not too bad for coffee.
I also noticed that Coffee Mate creamer was on sale for $1.79. If you use a $1/1 here the creamer is only $.79. Or you can check out my Walgreens post to get 2 creamers for $.49 total.

This week at Target you can get a $5 gift card when you buy any 5 boxes of Kellogg's cereal.

The cereal is on sale for $2.75 each.

When you use $1/1 coupon here they are $1.75 each

If you can get access to several computers and print 5 coupons this could be a good deal.

Total would be $8.75 for 5 boxes plus the $5 gift card

It would be like paying $3.75 for 5 boxes or $.75 each.
I posted earlier today about the free Idahoan potatoes. Well my husband will be proud. I managed to get him 24 packs for his food drive. I also snagged several other great deals.

Here is what I got...

24 packs of Idahoan potatoes
See my post here on how to get these FREE
This gave me $6 in catalinas

2 Glade scented oil candles $4.99 each
Used BOGO coupon (See my coupon bar)
and $2/1
Final $3 for both

1 Betty Crocker Frosting $1.59
For some reason my eSaver coupon did not come through
and $.50/1
Final should have been $.09, but came out $.59

1 gallon organic milk marked down to $3.99

1 string cheese (Not in the picture. I got hungry on the way home)

I did several transactions and ended up only paying $4.02 total.

I also have Starbucks Chocolate in the picture that I got at Target.
I bought 12 and used 12 $1/1 coupons and ended up paying $.30 each.
I plan to use these for stockings.
Find out where to get these coupons here.

How did you do this week? I would love to hear.
